Do Asphalt Shingles Last A Lifetime?
Asphalt shingles are the most common choice of roofing material for residential homes. They are inexpensive, easy to install, and are durable. But how long do they last? Do they last a lifetime? Are there other more durable choices for roofing?
Asphalt shingles are not the number one choice for residential roofing for no reason. They provide durability and stand up to extreme weather exceptionally well. Many companies, Outdoor Creations Roofing included, offer many warranty options, including lifetime warranties. However, they do not quite last a lifetime.
Asphalt shingle roofing, while durable, is not the most durable roofing available. It will last 15-20 years if properly maintained, while tile roofing can last longer than 50 years. Tile roofing is more expensive and more difficult to install, but it will last much longer and provide benefits that asphalt roofing cannot.
Asphalt roofing is still an exceptional choice for a roof. As previously stated, there is a reason why it is the number one choice for residential roofs. If you would like to have an asphalt or tile roof installed, give us a call at (918) 558-ROOF (7663).
